History
Torre Annunziata, Naples province, 1906: Mario Monsurrò, the last son of a large family of pasta makers, is born.
At just over sixteen years of age, Mario was tasked with operating the machinery, all of which was strictly manual. These were the years when electricity began to be regularly distributed in Italy, and Mario suggested to his brothers that they modify an old extruder by fitting it with an electric motor.
The innovation is disruptive and other pasta factories also request the new electric drawing machine, while Mario designs and builds an entire electric production and drying line, which sees the light
So, in 1946, he founded the company Mario Monsurrò Spa.
But this is also the story of a family, and in 1964 Mario’s son Domenico with his brother Franco joined the company. They give the company and its organization the modern industrial imprint starting with the name, which becomes COELMO (Costruzioni Elettromeccaniche Monsurrò).
The year 1975 marked the arrival of Stefania Brancaccio, who, together with her husband Domenico, worked to develop the company until she was awarded the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro (Knight of Labour).
Today, Marco and Jacopo are working on a sustainable future rooted in historic principles: making Coelmo the first choice for Generating Sets, with solutions that exceed, time and time again, expectations.
